Stag Theatre Company Step Out in Style
We hope you will enjoy reading Victor Clements and Pam Howlands lovely reviews of Stepping Out as much as we did!!
“Amongst several good local productions recently, "Stepping Out", presented by Stag Theatre Company and directed by Sandra Barfield, was exceptional. It needed no flight of fancy or the remotest effort to find ourselves not in the Ship Theatre, but simply in a village hall. The setting was perfect, what a model for others to follow. Here was played out, in some wonderful characterisations, which at times had us laughing till the tears ran, all the hope, passion and some despair in the lives of the women and one diffident man who aspired, driven on by their teacher, to learn to tap dance. We traveled through the six months from the hesitant and awkward business of learning, very cleverly done, to the triumph of the wonderful final public performance dance numbers, beautifully interspersed by two numbers by youngsters from the Dance Studio. This was a triumph, I loved it!”

“I recently saw The Stag Theatre Company’s production of Richard Harris’ comedy ‘Stepping Out’, (and what a night it was!). Sandra Barfield directed this production – and what a superb show it was, the whole show provided a most enjoyable evening of pure entertainment.
The cast contained a wealth of experience between them – and it showed, being very convincing in their own character, very good acting and such wonderful humour, having to learn tap dancing from scratch right in front of us – it provided us all an hilarious and thoroughly entertaining night.
Many congratulations to everybody concerned in this wonderful production.”
